Kültür için Alan tarafından desteklenen tasarım ile / with design projesinin kentte gerçekleştirdiği yerleştirmelerin ilki olan “Burada Eskiden Sinema Vardı” 18 Ağustos Çarşamba günü Buca Kent Evi / Yaşanabilir Buca Derneği’nde açılan sergi ile başladı. Serginin ardından dernek bahçesinde bir film gösterimi yapıldı. Proje, Buca’da koruma altında olan eski kent dokusunun olduğu bölgede 1950-1990 yılları arasında aktif olan sinemaların hayaletlerinin peşine düşüyor. Daha büyük bir araştırma projesinin ilk ayağı olarak düşünülebilecek olan proje, “nerde o eski sinemalar” söylemi yerine, şehrin hafızasını mekanın süregiden toplumsal üretiminin gayri maddi ve aktif bir parçası olarak ele aldı. Derya Özkan ve Ayşenur Onaran tarafından yürütülen projede, alan araştırması sonunda elde edilen veriler haritalama yöntemiyle bir araya getirildi ve fotoğraflarla belgeleme yapıldı. tasarım ile / with design project, supported by Spaces of Culture, presented its first installation “There Used to Be a Movie Theater Here” with an exhibition opening on Wednesday, August 18th at the Buca City House / Livable Buca Association. The exhibition was followed by an outdoor movie screening. The project traces the cultural history of movie theaters between 1950-1990 in the historical area currently under protection in Buca. The project is the first phase of a larger research project, and rather than leaning on a discourse of nostalgia for old movie theaters, it aims to address urban memory as an immaterial and active part of the ongoing social production of space. The project was carried out by Derya Özkan and Ayşenur Onaran, and the data obtained from the field research was brought together through mapping and documented with photographs.
